A human hepatocellular carcinoma model, MHCC97-H was established from a highly metastatic human hepatocellular carcinoma and selected for its invasive and metastatic phenotype. The cells originated from a liver tumor of a 39-year-old male and are classified as a human liver cancer cell line. MHCC97-H is characterized by a hypotriploid karyotype and has been used in studies of hepatocellular carcinoma invasion and metastasis.
